The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba (APEGM) has conducted employment surveys amongst members in each of the past four years. The results indicate that consulting is the most common industry sector for Professional Engineers and Members In Training in Manitoba.

The top 5 reported industry sectors for Members In Training are as follows; Consulting 18%, Manufacturing 16%, Aerospace 12%, Utilities 11%, and Transportation 5%. When you consider that consulting engineers are actively retained in all of these industry sectors, it becomes clear that the consulting engineering industry is responsible for hiring and deploying professional engineers in more areas of practice than any other employer in Manitoba.
